Terms of Use

These conditions govern every visit, search, and use of the website. Using any part of it signals agreement. Anyone who does not accept the terms must stop using the service.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no affiliation with a local, South Carolina, or federal government body. Neither the website nor an advertising partner supplies a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other Fair Credit Reporting Act purposes. It is a reference to Greenwood County criminal-record sources, not a private-investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site operates independently of government. It neither stores official records nor retrieves them, conducts an official check, or submits paperwork for a visitor.

Its role is to identify Greenwood County Sheriff's Records Division, the criminal courts, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, South Carolina Sex Offender Registry Tool, and other official custodians, while also displaying tools run by outside companies.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Website use is conditioned on the following limits. You may not:

  • Use automated scrapers, bots, or similar collection tools
  • Harass, stalk, threaten, or intimidate anyone with information found here
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any system or account
  • Use content for hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions
  • Interfere with service performance or another visitor's access
  • Violate a federal, state, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Using information from this site, or from any linked tool, to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate is forbidden and may be criminal. South Carolina law places special limits on misuse of South Carolina Sex Offender Registry Tool data. Registry information supports public safety awareness, not vigilante action, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

Any check required for a regulated purpose must come from South Carolina Law Enforcement Division or a screening company that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

General information about Greenwood County records is not legal advice. Only a licensed South Carolina attorney can assess how a charge, conviction, warrant, or expungement rule applies to specific facts.

6. No Warranties

All services and content are supplied "as is." No warranty promises that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges can be filed, dismissed, sealed, corrected, or expunged after publication. Gaps and delays are unavoidable, so website content is never an official statement from a court, sheriff, or government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

A link may lead to a sheriff, court, state agency, legal-aid group, or outside search service. We do not control a destination's content, data practices, prices, or availability and accept no responsibility for them. Review the destination's own terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Greenwood County Criminal History or its content partners own the text, graphics, logos, and code. Copying, distribution, modification, or derivative use requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim liability for damages arising from website use, including reliance on information displayed here or by a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, demands, and actions caused by your use or violation of these terms, including related legal costs and fees.

11. Governing Law

South Carolina law governs these terms, and a related dispute must be filed in a South Carolina court. Public-record access discussed here arises under the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act, S.C. Code Title 30, Chapter 4, while state criminal-history collection and dissemination are addressed in S.C. Code Title 23, Chapter 3.

12. Changes to These Terms

Revisions may be posted at any time and take effect upon publication on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or terminated without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all others remain effective. The affected text will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
