Why We Built This Site
South Carolina offers several public access routes, but each custodian answers a different question. Greenwood County Sheriff's Records Division handles county reports and booking requests. The Clerk of Court maintains General Sessions charges and dispositions. SLED operates the statewide fingerprint-supported repository, while SCDC, SCDPPPS, and SORT cover prison custody, community supervision, and registration. We organize verified contacts, search paths, fees, and request steps around those lines of custody.
What You Will Find Here
- Record guides: how Greenwood County court, arrest, registry, and city records are located and read
- Official check steps: how SLED name checks and authorized fingerprint processes differ
- Agency contacts: verified county, court, city, and state record-custodian details
- Record cleanup: South Carolina expungement routes and the Eighth Circuit application channel
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no connection to a South Carolina court, sheriff, police department, or state agency. Those boundaries matter:
- We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
- We cannot file expungement petitions, records requests, or any other paperwork on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
- We cannot promise that a changing phone number, fee, address, or portal remains current
An official copy must come from the sheriff, court, SLED, or other agency that issued and maintains the record. We only identify the appropriate source.
Search Partners
Outside providers power search boxes that appear on some pages. They control their services, results, and charges. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral fee that supports site operations. We neither set partner prices nor control the information a partner returns.
